Focus & Exposure Blending - Tufuse / Tufuse Pro
Max Lyons, (known for his gigapixel images), has recently released an updated beta of Tufuse Pro. Tufuse & Tufuse Pro are programs that create extended dynamic range ("exposure blended") and extended depth of field ("focus blended") images.
They use a technique known as 'Image Fusion' to combine the "best exposed" and/or "best focused" regions of multiple images into a single "fused" composite image. Also, interesting is it's Auto-bracketing feature that automates the creating and blending of multiple versions of a single image/shot, aka "pseudo-HDR".

I have both and would recommend either one/both. Tufuse is a command line program and is free. I use it as part of my Pano workflow. TuFuse Pro enhances the free TuFuse by providing a GUI to help you manage the configuration and the settings.
According to Max Lyon's site, Tufuse Pro will work with dcRAW. Which means you could use it with ARW files. (I haven't tried this yet)
