Zeiss is nice, but then so's the Sigma ;-)
Hi Cross-lane
I haven't used the Zeiss, so can't really comment on it's performance, however, I have got the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX DG and really rate it as a lens. I find it very resistant to CA (I have seen several shot where the Zeiss has a bit of fringing) and sharp enough. I have a 15x10 from a 5D printed that was taken wide open at 70mm and it's really very nice.
I had considered the Zeiss when I bought my Sigma, but as you say, I was put off by early QC issues (I believe that's sorted now), and also wanted a FF compatible lens that was f2.8 straight through.
See here http://www.alphamountworld.com/forums/photo-critique-forum/ongoing-signs... for a recent photo taken with the Sigma lens.
If you can, I'd try them both in a shop and ask them to print them out. However, I think you'd like the Sigma.
Cheers
Andrew
