Sony A900 will be compatible with APS-C

I've long been curious to know if the A900 would have a APS-C crop mode. Per this write up by David K. it will be compatible with APS-C lenses. That's good news to me! I hope he is right.

"Because the Alpha 900 is designed to use APS-C lenses as well as full frame, it will be interesting to see what area the AF sensors cover. Will they be clustered centrally within the 1.5X image zone, or scaled up to work optimally with full frame movement tracking?"

A900 wish list

Besides all the things we have all ready been told, Here are I couple frills I'm hoping it has:

1) Bluetooth link so I can down load my images to my computer wirelessly and not have a cable to lose or break.
2) A way to link the camera to my GPS so I can record my location in the metafile.

What's on your wish list?

Alpha A900 flagship competition, and more.

After tonight, I think I have a very good idea on where the Flagship is going to compete.

I agree that Nikon seems to be going after Canon aggressively. The $2999.00 D700 will compete mainly against Canon, but after now knowing specifics of this camera (price mainly) I now think it will compete with the A900 as well. Yes I am calling it an A900 now. Seems the folks at the Sony counter at PMA were only protecting the name of the Flagship at that time (even though I was assured it would NOT be called the A900).

Should Sony offer the A900 optionally bundled with a VAIO?

I imagine that 24MP RAW images are going to be 30-40mb's in size. Most peoples computers are going to have trouble dealing with such large files. Sony's computer division could build a special VAIO with a 1-2TB hard drive, 24" LCD display, fast video card, 3-4GB of high speed ram, quad core processor, and a decent printer as an optional item to be bundled with A900 cameras. I know it's a strange idea, but I think Sony would be dumb to miss the opportunity.

Does anybody know how soon the new Ff a900 come to the market.
I am saving all of my money for this camera.
