Auto Focus
Help...A300 low light focusing.
I am having trouble getting a low light focus lock on the A300. I am using a combo of kit, KM50mm 1.7 and SAL75-300. It doesn't seem to matter which lens I have attached. There is plenty of light to get great 1600-3200 shots but I can't get the focus. I tried w/ AF Illuminator in Off and Auto w/ no perceived change. I have tried leaving red eye reduction on/off w/ no help. I left the flash up while not using thinking it might give me the AF Illuminator but no help. Is this simply a limitation of the camera, or my lenses.
For Carl: Sigma 18-50 review on Dyxum
Hello Carl,
On Aug 4th, 2007 you posted a review on Dyxum of the Sigma 18-50 F/2.8 lens and gave it good marks. The next couple of people after you said the AutoFocus failed on their copies of that lens, and indicated the internal gears of the lens had striped. Bummer.
Read all about it:
http://www.dyxum.com/reviews/lenses/reviews.asp?IDLens=352
So, my question then, is do you still use that lens and does it still AutoFocus properly for you?
Also, is there anything that you would add to that review 13 1/2 months later? Any other comments?
Thanks, Ray
