I discovered today how to make Vichyssoise. You add too much hot water to your instant mashed potatoes with chives. Everything tastes good on the trail.

I took a 7 mile hike today and spotted a plant that surprised me in how intensely red but I don't know what it is. Do you?

Carl, this is my alcohol stove and a combination wind shield/pot support. It make for a very stable, safe, light weight support.

Got back from a really fun trip in the Sierras. Planned a big hike so weight was crucial, only brought my GX on this trip couldn't afford the extra bulk or weight of a DSLR in this case.
