ive been researching my brains out latly on a new lens to buy for my Sony A300. and its hard to find reviews or better yet comparison reviews. any ways the lens im considering are

Sony 70-300G
sony/Tamron/sigma 70-200 f/2.8
Song 18-250 (i think it is)

This is of course a personal style judgement call, but I'm curious as to which one you'd pick.

I have an A700 but will likely also use the A900.

I have a 24mm Minolta lens and am deciding whether to get one more prime lens for street shooting.
For landscapes I can easily use a zoom but like being a bit lighter and a bit less obtrusive for candid shots.

I'm debating about whether to just work with the 24mm or to go for either the 20mm, 28mm, or a 50mm.
The 35mm is out, too big and too expensive.

Which would you pick and why?

The question is will I need a second mortgage.

I'm guessing around $1800 in the U.S.

But that's a wild guess with nothing to support it!

I hate to be a spoil sport ... oh, c'mon ... but, TAMRON has really been a litltle more than annoying with some of the QC issues I have been privy to (by buying the lenses) and I just wanted to know if other folks were seeing the same kind of issue.

I was just curious as to what I should be looking for when buying used equipment. I'm interested in the 50mm 1.7.
what should I do, look for, and any other tips when attempting to purchase a used equipment. all opinions and thoughts are welcomed. thanks in advance.
