Ok, so many of us have seen leaks on the internet about the upcoming A900.

Based on what you have seen so far, and your prior plans.. who here is buying the A900?

Here are two images I took last month with the A300 and Minolta 70-210mm 'Beercan' lens. These were taken with the camera low down to the ground on a tripod, as such I made good use of the live view on the A300.

I have processed them lightly in Aperture with the main alterations being the crop in the first image with a slight reduction in vibrancy and a small vignette added. The last image is pretty much a straight conversion.

So today Sony announces what by any standard is the MOST ADVANCED Shoe mount flash unit buy any DSLR maker. The projected price is simular to the release MSRP for the top level Canon Nikon flashes.

And on DPR Sony Forum which appears to be now run buy complainers and their fanbase. All they can do is complain about price.
Over and over lenses and flashes etc. the complaints about SONY price keep coming.
I have actually seen the professional complainers choose a totally different Nikon lens for thier RANT because the compared to the same Nikon the Sony was cheaper.

I have recently upgraded from a Sony F828 to a Alpha 350. I usually do studio work (model photography) and think the A350 has a big shortcoming when working with studio flashes... live view is simply unuseable!

I really like your site and have thoroughly read your alpha 700, alpha 200, and alpha 350 reviews. They give an "advanced user point of view" that can't be found on other sites, thanks for that !
I know that you're currently reviewing the alpha 300 and I really can't wait to know if it has all the qualities of the alpha 200 + liveview, or if it's closer to the A350. It seems that the IQ from alpha 200 seems a little better than the one from alpha 350 for someone who doesn't need the extra MPs.
Can you give us a hint ? When will you publish your alpha 300 review ?

The a200 review says the image quality is simply fantastic. The a350 review says above ISO 800 there are severe problems.

What gives?

I currently have the A100. I've been happy with it. (upgraded from the F717) Now I'm wanting a second body. I've read Carl's review on the A700 and am impressed. First thought was to run out and buy one. I read the A350 specs on the Sony website. Sounds like the A-100 with more pixels, higher ISO, and live view. Now I don't know what to do. I'm guessing the 'flagship' camera will be out of my price range (around $4K). Any speculations as to if there will be an inbetween the A700 and the flagship? If so when?
