Nik Software..
I got an email from a friend, suggesting to give this stuff a look. Ok its from Nikon, but it looks nice enough, trying a few on demo.
Not cheap for sure..but some neat things here. Have a look for yourself. Film simulations a presets are extensive, for both colour and b&w packages. Also NR and sharpening software. Not had a chance to try them all out yet.

Looks to me like Nikon is trying to exploit more of there proprietary RAW file formats or to raise capital with software you can already do with CS3 to compete with the up coming cameras Sony will produce. No pun intended towards “nikon”. LOL <{;-)~

Hey this looks dangerous……..You go first!
If at first you don't succeed, Skydiving is not for you!
... Because I'm under the impression that dedicated software tools perform better at their respective specific functions than all-in-one integrated tools.
I didn't know they were owned by Nikon, I thought they were privately held. Or, were they spun off from Nikon? Aren't they out of San Diego, CA?

I am pretty sure Nikon threw some cash at them, and have some kind of financial interest. Not to say that they are not a private company, but they do capture NX2, which only does raw with nikon files..it's clear nikon have something going on.
Not to say Nikon didn't do something to help fund the company. But I use Nik Effects in CS3. Sure it doesn't do any thing that I couldn't already do but it does speed things along. Does a really good job too. The two effects I use the most are the skin smoother and galmour glow.
