Photoshop Elements 6
Does anyone use this program and would it be suitable for my A200? Wally World has it for $79.00, which is $20.00 less than anywhere else I have looked.
Thanks

Perry,
I've used earlier versions of elements ... of photoshop elements and it had enough features to keep me happy at the time. Regarding your query about it's suitability for your A200 - the answer is: That depends. What are you expecting the software to do? It's strength is to provide a few of the more critical fixes / enhancements for typical snap shots. In the past few years it has grown in it's ability to help you organize and publish your images, too.
**** Adobe offers free trial's of their software. I would strongly recommend you try it, before you buy it.

To try Adobe Photoshop Elements for Macintosh, go here: http://www.adobe.com/go/tryphotoshop_elements_mac

After you try it, post some of your more of your images in the photo sharing forum. I'd like to see some more of you're work. Perhaps, as Barry had recommended, you could use PE to convert your train image into B&W, or even try Sepia.
Then, if you get a chance, come back here to tell us what you think of the software. If you wouldn't mind, tell us if it lived up to your expectations, what you liked about it, what you disliked about it, and if you would recommend it to other folk. I'm sure that other forum members would be very appreciative of learning from your experience.
Hope this helps.

I use Elements 6 and it is fine with A200 RAW files. Make sure you download the lated version of Adobe Camera Raw.
Best Regards

Crystin,
Thanx. That's good to know and I edited my original response to preclude any question about RAW files.

I need a program to do basic enhancements, sharpening and such. I am not proficient in setting my exposure right yet, therefore the need to correct my mistakes while learning. I did purchase the Gary Friedman A200 e-book recently and just about through reading it, now all I have to do is convince those people at work to give me more time off to practice...LOL. A long while ago, I had tried a trial version from adobe before I got this camera, I will try again, they can only say no. Thanks again for your advice and encouragement.
Perry
I appreciate that. So Elements doesn't come with the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw?
Thanks again!
Perry
Camera Raw is a plugin for Photoshop, and is frequently updated to allow the processing of new RAW file formats. It is easier to update a module of an application rather then the full version, so updates frequently appear after the release of the main version of an application.

Adobe Camera Raw is used in Elements 6. I use the editor which you can use as a stand alone if you wish. The updates for various new cameras are free, Adobe have just provided an upgrade to cover my A350. The Editor has most of the features you would use from Adobe CR3. Lots of help on the web for this software.
The older I get the better I used to be.
Thank you for the explanation, it appears that I also have much to learn about Adobe too.

I guess I will have to find an instructional book on Adobe to be able to learn how to use it. I see all these great pictures posted here and know they are great photographers with great PP skills and if I observe and practice enough, one day maybe. :-)

I use Elements 6.0 and the editor works very well. It is the best program that I have found for the money. It is based, of course, on a stripped version of Photoshop CS. Like Photoshop the RAW convertor is a plugin and is the same plugin that is used in Photoshop CS and can be upgraded by itself by copying the new filter into it. The photo organizer is nice and has stacking....
I have bought this book and would advise anyone wanting to learn more...
