Hi all

Hi all

Well I just posted a few shots from today and realized I hadn't introduced myself. My name is Al and I live in Manchester, CT. Just picked up an A200 after alot of thought. I had been using a Maxxum 5xi for years and it has always served me well. I havent done any real thoughtful work in years though and finally decided to let the creative juices flow again.

By the way, Welcome AL! :)

I have the A200, if you run into any questions, feel free to ask. Lots of shooters on the site here too that use it, so far most really like it quite a bit.

welcome, GP

You just wrote: "Just picked up an A200 after alot of thought."

This is the true mark of an Alpha Mount user. *grin* I recently happened onto the First Commandment of Camera Interweb Forums: "Thou shall not ownie to shooting a Sony." But if you are willing to risk the diatribe of the Nikonian and (shudder) the utter scorn of the Canonite, and actually look at the peformance of a given camera at a given price point, you might just find yourself with a Sony.

Welcome home.

Thats the key

Looking at the whole picture, I'm sure most of us A-Mount types could agree with that.

I deal with it all the time

I deal with it all the time although on a trip to LA a few weeks back I did get the occasional nice camera comment. Unfortunately my boss is a Nikonian with way too much money on his hands and had to show off his new D3.

I think Canon users are more

I think Canon users are more likely to make a rude comment than a Nikon owner. If you're dealing with a rude Nikon owner, just casually mention that Sony makes image sensors for Nikon. If Sony is so horrible than Nikon must be equally horrible for using Sony manufactured and designed electronic components....

The same argument can be leveled against fanboys with any number of electronic toys. You'd be surprised how many Sony components there are in other companies products.
