Hi all. thanks for allowing me to join your forum. Looking forward to reading all your posts etc. I live in Plymouth England and have just ordered the a350 inc the kit lens. Going from a digital compact. Was more money than I had intended to pay but thought that as this camera would last years it was worth paying more. Cant afford another lens yet though hoping to get one later. Are there any photos on site that use the kit lens? Hope I have made the right choice. Regards Dominic

hi dominic, i live in Kent England and have had my a350 for a few weeks now coming from a sony compact and also just joined this forum. I think this camera is great for my amateur needs, i hope you enjoy it as much as i am! I'd love to get a longer lens for this camera but like you i cant afford one at the moment, the kit lens does produce some good results though. I have just uploaded a few of my first pictures with the kit lens in the photo critique section if you fancied a look, although they're not particularly good it shows that with practice and critique from the kind contributors here i should be able to get some good results with this camera. Hope you have fun!

Dominic, welcome.

And congratulations on your purchase!

If others here don't post any shots with the A350 and the kit lens, Ill go out and shoot a couple for ya for a basic idea and post them here if you'd like? I am doing something similar for another member of ours, and it is no problem.

Give me some simple criteria (no Motorcycle race ISO 6400 pic requests please, wouldn't want to show up NIKON).

Carl

Welcome, Dominic, You'll

Welcome, Dominic,

You'll enjoy your camera, I'm sure. Don't succumb to "kit lens embarrassment". It's good glass that's fully capable of excellent images. Lens envy is a disease. I should know, I'm afflicted. *grin*
