Looking for a lens case for Sony 500mm f8 mirror lens
I currently toss my Sony 500 mm f8 mirror lens in my back pack with a heavy hiking sock pulled over it to protect it from getting banged about. I would prefer to use a padded case if I could find one that would fit the length and diameter of this big lens. Does anyone know where I can get a case that would fit this lens?

I'll also check back. Sony sells a generic case that is compatable for $35 but they do not give a good discription. I was hoping that some who has this lens has already found a case that fits it well.

I was one the phone with ONECALL.COM ordering a different lens (Sony 50mm f/1.4). I asked if they had a lens that would fit my Sony 500mm f/8 mirror lens. They sent me a Tamrac large lens case model number MX5378. I paid $12.95. It was a tight squeeze but I managed to shove it in the case and zip it closed. Problem solved.
