Mystery lenses
I have these two Quantaray branded lenses for the Minolta AF mount. I am wondering who really made them. It has to be Sigma, Vivitar(which doesn't make lenses itself), Tokina, Magnicon or what of the others brands, right? I would lean towards Tokina except for the fact that they both claim to have been made in Korea. I believe all Tokina lenses are made in Japan. Both of these lenses both most closely match Tokina lenses that I can find on Dyxum.
Both are metal bodied and quite old. It's sort of like an MC lens with AF.

The 70-210 seems to have focus issues on both the Minolta film cameras and the Sony alpha cameras. Perhaps communication about the focus limiter isn't working properly, so the camera tries to focus the lens past infinity and past the 1:1 macro.

Should be made by Sigma, Promaster is Tamron.
:)
Hmm on the communication issue on the camera/lens combo.

I thought at some point in time Quantaray lenses were made by any number of 3rd party lens makers.

I'm now pretty sure these were made by a company called Samyang Optical. http://www.syopt.co.kr/
They still make Minolta mount lenses.
