Quantaray 100-300 or Tamron 75-300 which is better?
Just trying to see if anyone has any experience with either of these lens. I have use of the Quantaray as long as I want it and now have the chance to buy a Tamron 75-300 for $50.00. Need some advice on which would be the better lens.
Thanks
Perry

I don't have any personal experience with the Quantaray lineup.
I have the Tamron however, which is due for a review here soon so I can speak for that lens.
I think for the price, and reasonable expectations, the Tamron is a very good lens. And one of the more fun lenses to use. Having a 1:2 macro ability on that range makes it a joyful experience to use. Eric has used it here some as well, he echoed those sentiments.
If I find any Quantaray reviews worth mentioning I will post a link here for ya.

I believe that a lot of the Quantaray lenses are just rebadged Sigma lenses. I would probably be easier to find reviews of the Sigma version.

Ditto with Carl on this one regarding the 70-300 DI tamron. It probably has the best price/performance out there. It only sells for $159 new...
