Tamron SP AF 28-75 f2.8
I was wondering if anybody has the Tamron SP AF 28-75 f2.8 lens. I have the KM version of it and I love the optical quality a great deal. However, I was wondering how many rotations the AF screw has on the Tamron vs the KM. Can anybody tell me how many screw turns the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 has? I was thinking of getting it as a back up lens and I wanted to know if there was a difference in the AF gearing. The KM AF 28-75 f2.8 has in the order of 3-1/3 screw turns if anyone was wondering.
Regards,
Niko

Wow! Is there no one who owns this lens that can answer my question?

I figured someone here would have it.
I don't have a copy of it personally, but if I did I would tell you how many screw turns it is. Typically Tamron is a bit lower geared and has more screw turns than the competition. I think this helps with accuracy of focus more and they emphasize that.
If I can find out for you Niko, I will.

Thanks Carl. I appreciate it.

Okay, I found out how many screw turns the lens has from a fellow at www.dyxum.com. The lens matches the Konica Minolta version with 3-1/3 turns. It would seem that mechanically (auto focus wise) the lenses are a match. Exterior finish is different of course. I wish that the zoom lock was part of the KM package as it is with the Tamron.
