Konica Minolta 24mm 2.8, big suprises come in small packages!
Today I received my refurbished 24mm 2.8 Minolta. Internal focus, no rotating elements, cute little lens hood, superbly and fantastically built, almost feather light, very interesting and eye catching images... what a perfect mate for the A200 for a super lightweight setup.
What a perfect lens to get going on the new type of photography I'm pushing myself into.
Can't wait to review this sucker!

A100 / A700+Grip: Sony 18-70, Minolta: 20/2.8, 50/1.7, 35-70/4, 70-210/4(Beercan), 75-300/4.5-5.6(Big Beercan), Sigma: 50/2.8 Macro. HVL56, other assorted junk...
Each time I feel a bit routine, I want to try something new. Its like a knee jerk reaction I have, I can't help it. If I feel like I'm stagnating at all, I immediately let my mind go, and see what's in there :).
Lately I've been wanting to get more black and white street scenes, odd angles, compositional changes, gritty stuff, weird objects, cool buildings, you name it.
Nature stuff of course just different angles on it.
But.
-I wanted a lightweight DSLR with a small prime on it to do the job. No zooms allowed.
-Fast aperture for good light control.
-A simple set up, no tripod, not even a camera strap (save maybe a small wrist strap).
-Keep it simple and use my creative mind more, see what I can do. I like to push myself to try new things, and that usually helps me build on what I like to already do.
Experimentation is an exercise for me, a release, a breath of fresh air. :)

vision with the camera and my post work...
Should I stay with portraits, stills, candids, action(not much yet), landscapes, on and on...
Do I try and do all; just with my distint flavor on it?
I actually think that I am closer to finding a grove with my post work - very simple and stright forward. Lends itself to making get the best image possible in camera...
Good luck, I am sure the results will be fantastic. That is what makes photography so great, you can change whenever and however you want to and even subtle changes can result in radically new image types than what you were used to.

I see Carl is getting into the primes!
I have to admit, I like them too. This would be a fine lens for FF/film, I await your review on it. Not so sure that for APS its so appealing, but hey..if you are getting the flagship...lol
Yep always been a prime fan, some of my favorite times shooting have been with primes, like the 135STF and the 50mm Macro, etc.
This little gem is really neato though. Although the focus ring rotates during AF, I really like how the elements move inside and the front element does not move. It's a little bonus and the lens is pretty darn sharp too!
The bokeh is really different, talk about a fingerprint lens.
