Hi Michele,
That's a great image you've posted there. Really nice lighting here it just makes the rose stand out so vividly. How is it lit, natural daylight, diffused light or what? I think the soft tones of the rose are well supported by the chosen aperture and the wonderful bokeh. It all adds up to a great flower image and one that you should be very pleased with.
One small critique if I may, I would be tempted to crop a small sliver off the right hand side- not much but just enough to make the flower slightly off centre.
Cheers and thanks for posting- welcome to AMW by the way :-)

Beautiful rose Michele, love the creamy bokeh depth of field and your framing.
For me I have no real critique to speak of. I'm guess one of those people who is often bugged by centered shots they rarely look right to me, but this one works great as such.
nice work, thanks for sharing that.

Michele,
Once again, I love it. As much as I love strong contrast, this one is perfect. I concur with Andrew's crop statement, but this photo looks brilliant regardless.

I so appreciate your comments. The lighting was natural. I took the rose outside, the sky was a bit overcast. As far as centering or not, this is just a tad off center. I know it is a sticking point to a lot of people, but if what would the flower be looking at to the left or right ?? LOL Anyway, I will try to make my flowers more off centered in the future, maybe.

Really good pic this one.Good bokeh and just the right amount of sharpening. I also think that the more centralised position of the rose in this pic works well. A hint if you're taking pics of flowers in overcast weather, a reflector works wonders. :-)
EDIT/ You didn't need one in this shot however. :)
