"That's why its called fishing...if it was easy they'd call it catching. What fun would that be?"
A100 / A700+Grip: Sony 18-70, Minolta: 20/2.8, 50/1.7, 35-70/4, 70-210/4(Beercan), 75-300/4.5-5.6(Big Beercan), Sigma: 50/2.8 Macro. HVL56, other assorted junk...

Here is one I used the Big Beercan for the reach...
Also used the On-board for a little fill (was about 80 to 100 ft away)

Those are great. I love all the texture the B&W brought out in the elephant. I checked out a "beercan" at the camera shop last night. $80. But it had an inclusion. I didn't notice it in the sample shots I took but there's not much of interest to shoot in a camera shop either!

for $80, I might just buy for a back up of future investment. As more people come on board with Sony's line-up, and the legend of the old Minolta glass grows, the value of the lenses, esp the Beercan can only go up...
Thanks for checking these out...

I love that elephant shot, excellent! I see nothing to critique there at all, I think that's really good.
The second is quite nice, I like the pose you caught the two diag. lines there, and expression. I don't think it's as strong as the first or third however.
Third is also very nice! I like the expression of the one on the left especially. The way you've framed it with the two sitting together like that is great. The only thing I would mention is I think it's slightly evident that they're in some type of a zoo setting, which slightly detracts for me personally, but just a minor thing. Great shot.
thanks for posting

I really like the restraint you showed on the edit of the Elephant, it has a complete feel to it now, very nice (curious as to a black matte and a frame at 13x19 would look like :)...)
And of course Cheetahs are one of my favorites, the textures in this image is fantastic, contrast of the straw with the spots, and the structure. Mmmmm mmmm.
Very nice.
(cant wait to get out of my review hood and go shoot more! you are making me ancy!)

I get from the talent people here. It really does help me fine tune the way I look at a potential image, and how far I press it with PP...
I may have to look at some black matting now that you mention it... ;)
Thanks for the nice words on the cats...the original looks far different as I think I was at the limits of my BBC.
I can only imagine the work out that your A700 going to get once you find the time... to quote Tracey Morgan from an interview on the Howard Stern show..."you're gonna' beat it like it owes you money"
