Lava inthe sky
Hello everybody,
Please find 3 pictures (same landscape) but at different moments in the falling evening. Looks like lava.
It was a big stormy evening but very beautiful in colors. The sky is in fire!
What do you think of those pictures?
Thanks a lot.

No's 2 & 3 are brilliant shots Pierre. I'm more drawn to No.2 as the best shot with the suns rays emanating from behind the silhouette'd landscape. If i'd change one thing i'd proably crop it to remove the trees on the right hand side of the picture. Give it a whirl and see what kind of results you get. Also try making the black section on no.2 pure black as I can see some "artifacts" in it.
Hey Patapili,
These are really cool photos, well done. The colours on these are amazing, how have you processed them or are they straight out of the camera. The colours are really vivid- puts a lid on all those who whinge about the A350's colours ;-)
I like all 3 photos very much and think they would look great printed big on a canvas or something similar. I really like the second image with the effect that the sun has around the trees. It's kind of like it's fanning out and I think that's kind of cool! I would actually take elements out of all photos as they all work well. The intensity of colour in the final photo is terrific- I can see what you mean about 'lava in the sky'.
Excellent work, thanks for sharing.

Damn, Leon keeps posting just before me. LOL.

Wonderful set of images Patapili.
Twist my arm and I go for #2 the best. #1 would have made it if there were more foreground.
Man those are nice.
Excellent job!

I absolutely love these images. Each of them is quite spectacular - the intensity of the sky is captured beautifully. My favourite is the second.
Where are they taken?
Those sunset were taken in Belgium, in my garden during the evening. We had a bad stormy weather during this afternoon and thanks ti it, the evening's sky offer me those pictures!
Some people are very surprised that we can have this kind of sunset in belgium ;)) I was lucky and at the right place at the right moment! :)) We are in a very small country, not very "exotic" so we do what we can do...

I realize that it's possible to take some nice shoot with the A350. Lot's of people critic this camera... and prefer A700. Do you think it would be interesting to invest in a A700?
What are the advantages of a A700 vs A350? Thanks a lot for appreciating my pictures!

Patapili hi,
The last question about the A350 .vs. A700 who was that addressed to? Me? If so then allow me to share some thoughts on the two cameras.
The A700 is very much the higher end/higher spec of the two cameras, with more advanced features such as better DRO and hand controlled Eye Start to name but a few. However, at low to medium ISO settings the images produce by both cameras (assuming that you use similarly high quality lenses) will be very similar. So unless you use high ISO settings or need the better features then no there is less need for an A700 (has got a lovely VF though), however it would be interesting to have one.
If the cameras are used by skilled users (and you indeed seem to be a skilled photographer) then they can both produce great results- as your images here show. I guess it's as we British say, horses for courses (i.e. take the right tool for the job)- the A700 would excel at high ISO or sports/wildlife shooting, whereas the A350 excels at low ISO detail and landscapes and general photos.

These are beautiful. My FIL shoots sunsets in the MT mountains and I'd have to say these are better than anything I've seen him capture with his big ol' D300.

Thanks you very much for your comments! About wild life, you can perhaps give me your opinion about some birds pictures that I just took on last weekend.
I will very appreciate.

Hi Pierre,
Yeah no probs will do. Been a little quiet on line recently as I've had a couple of big problems with my internet- touch wood, it's all ok now.
Cheers
