light box for macro - advice requested

I built a light box per recommendations on strobist and came out with these shots. Any advice would be great :)

Can you link the article?

I think that will be valuable here, light boxes have uses people haven't even considered.

First shot is interesting, are you using a strobe in your setup?

nice, I like the second shot

nice, I like the second shot better.

I assume the off white coloring of the first background was by intent, for me something about that picture doesn't quite work as well as the second. It seems like the glass and the off white don't complement each other? I'm not sure if it's that the glass is so clean and clear against the off white that it looks odd? Also the speckles on the background. That all may just be me though, I may be completely wrong on all that and don't get me wrong it's still a pleasing shot.

I like the second a lot! Quite excellent.

thanks for posting those

How about an image of the light box itself?

If possible I'd like to see the light box you built and then perhaps the article you reference?
Thanks
