Nice shots Baz, I like them.

Nice shots Baz, I like them. My favourite is that baseball pic. Nice colors and it would be even better for _my taste_, if the baseball is not in the center of the picture (or quite near the center), perhaps the 4o'clock corner would be more ideal at least, as said, to my taste, . =) Light bulp looks nice and it's not in the center. ;)

Edit: FIN-USA 3-2 :D

I like the marbles shot

I like the marbles shot best. I agree with keijog about the baseball shot. Everything about it seems pretty spot on except for the composition. I would move it off center to the side or a corner.

Were these all taken with the kit lens? The A350 seems to capture many fine details.

thanks

cheers for the advice, i agree the baseball does need to be moved off centre, hopefully i'll have the time soon to get out of my house and take pictures of more interesting subject matter! (i'm meant to be revising for exams at the moment)

Yeh these were all taken with the kit lens and i'm very happy with my a350 so far, can't wait to get some new glass though especially the sony 100mm macro and a telephoto lens.

I like the marble shot the

I like the marble shot the best. The leaf shot could probably have used a wider aperture, it seems to become fuzzy too soon. With the marble shot did you use a filter for the effect?

leaf and marbles

i agree the leaf does need a smaller aperture, maybe a faster shutter speed- it was moving about a fair bit in the wind and i wasn't using a tripod either maybe thats why it's fuzzy at the edges.

The marbles were just in a glass of water (i thought it looked more interesting) and i inverted the picture in corel photopaint afterwards to get the effect, no on camera filter.

Baz, that leaf

Is a perfect subject, did you keep it?

My only suggestion is that I'd like to see it fully sharp.

The color is great and even the centered composition is nice (although I might try offsetting it a bit just to see reaction). The pattern is mesmerizing and you did a great job capturing that.

unfortunately not

I noticed that leaf in a small forest relatively near my house, unfortunatley i didn't keep it, i only realized how much of a nice pattern it had once i checked the images on my computer- i didn't expect to get a reasonable result using flash on a leaf that close, hopefully i can find a similar one again with a bit of searching! and i might be able to get a sharper image with better composition.
cheers for the feedback
