24 hours - What a difference!
We attended two free concerts at the Gallivan Plaza here in Downtown Salt Lake, last night and Wednesday. The first being Shine Down on Wed. and Neko Case last night. Quite a difference in the crowd and musicical genre. I shot from the same place both nights mainly because I could not get any closer. The crowd shots and the rock band were all shot with A-700 and 135mm f2.8 and the folky looking group were with 80-200 f2.8 APO-G and A-700. The first night I didn't bring the pro glass because I thought they might not let me in with it, but it was evident that they could care less, so last night I brought everything. Enjoy the pics!

I think you have done an excellent job of both nights - it really does show the difference between the music styles. Is it me or are the pics of the second night sharper and clearer? Both lenses are f2.8 so the shutter speeds should have been similar, but somehow the second night's shots are much better to me. Maybe it's because they don't jump around as much!
Well done, and thanks for sharing!
Cheers

and you're correct. The second night yeilded much brighter and more consistent stage lighting and MUCH more static subjects. With Shine Down I was limited to 1600 ISO @ f2.8. The Neko Case show let me jump around from 400-800 ISO @ f4 with still slightly faster shutter speeds.(if you can consider 1/90 or 1/125 fast). Probably the stopping down and lower ISO's contribute to the sharper images from the second night. Thanx for looking.
