Aluminum Overcast (B-17)

Aluminum Overcast (B-17)

I know that there are a few here that like airplanes and possibly airplane pictures. I hope that you do not mind me sharing a few with you.
A few weeks back, this plane toured through Spokane. I went and took a few pics. I love these old war birds. I finally got around to working with them:). I hope you like the pics.
These were taken with my Sony A700 and Sony 18-250mm lens and processed in Lightroom.

The Flying Fortress

Hey Ron,

This is such an incredible aircraft and you did a fine job showing her off! Photos are really good and the cloud cover really adds to the mood of this mighty war bird. It is somewhat of a scary think of the world we all would live in today if not for the B-17. It has been said that the combination of this aircraft and the many brave men in her charge, truly turned the table against all the tyranny and repression of the Second World War. She looks like the Boeing B-17 G Flying Fortress. Thanks for sharing these photos of the B-17.

Thank you Ron for sharing these...I love being able to see

these old classics...

I can't wait to show these to my dad. He piloted 39 missions in one of these birds. His was called the "Dee Marie".

Do you have any shots of the interior?

Hapster

Thanks for the comments

Thanks for the comments guys. I am glad that you enjoy these. I like taking pictures of just about anything, but these old war birds are one of my favorite things to shot!!

Hapster, I am sorry, I do not have any interior pictures. By the time I got to the airport, the old girl was locked up pretty tight. I hope that your dad enjoys the pictures. I have many more if you are interested! Please tell your father, THANK YOU, for his service to our country!!

I am getting ready some pics of a different B-17 as well as a B-24, B-25 and a P-51 that were in our area the last few days.

Thanks again, Ron

I have always enjoyed air and jet aircraft and this reminded of the movie 12 O'Clock High. Keep up the good work.

These look great, I

These look great, I especially like the first and last shots in your first post. To me, the lighting looks perfect.
