Butterflies.

Butterflies.

Hi all,

Here are three images taken a couple of weeks ago (only just got around to PP them) at a local butterfly park. I used the A300 and 70-210 beercan for these images. They were also the first images taken with the BG 30AM battery grip-what a difference that makes to the handling...

These are all pretty much out of camera although they have had a DxO Film pack effect applied- I added the Provia 100 effect and quite like the results. Thanks for looking.

Very pleasing colors Andrew

#2 and #3 I like very much. Maybe you could add these to a DXO follow up before and after series or something? :)

#1

You achieved some nice texture in the B & W conversion in #1. Nice colors in the other two.

Hi Heather, thanks for your kind words.

Hi Heather,

Thank you for your kind words. I was pleased with the way that these turned out, both as photos and also with regards to the colours and textures. For the first image I think (can't remember 100%) it was set to T-Max 3200 in DxO Film Pack. Contrast and grain for all of the images was left to the default settings which is 'as shot'. It's actually quite interesting on the colour images as the choice of film (Provia 100F) didn't alter the out of camera colours that much, it was just a subtle tweak.

I think the Beercan helped with the general feel to the images, the bokeh is nice and creamy but the colours out of the beercan are quite special, they have an almost milky/buttery smooth quality to them.

Once again thanks for your kind words.

Andrew
