Second place - Sony Neoprene Elbow Strap
Rules are simple:
1. Submit a photo in this forum post* from an A-Mount camera only (we trust you), film or digital.
2. The work must of course be your own original work.
3. Wildlife includes anything that is alive that isn't a plant, or a human, or a space alien (UFO's don't count either).
4. One photo per person please.
5. You agree to let us possibly display a local copy on our site with photo credit to you. We'd of course remove it at your request at any point.
*Please make your entry no larger than 1152x860 and try to keep the file size down, thank you.
The contest will start March 27, and run through April 27. At which time we will then start a new contest and announce the winners within one week after the contest end date.
Good luck to you all, I am looking forward to all of your wonderful photographs. There is quite a group of talent gathered here thus far I must say, and I am excited to see the outcome.
Any questions please feel free to contact us anytime!

These are the newest additions to our little family.
They are Cavachons, 8 weeks old, and the only brothers from a litter of six...My daughter picked the names.
Thanks for your consideration - Hapster

Go Gators! I love the turtles on the tree to the right. Turtles always seem to be nearby the Gators. I have several other images and you can always find a turtle here and there. These Gators are completely wild and protected on a preserve.
This is a 100% crop from an image taken with my a100 and the 75-300 big beer can. If you would like to review the actual full image and several others in this set please visit my web pages at.

One of our great southern secrets is just how great the gator tail is. Just think of it as fish & chips and cook it the same way. Diced in small bite size cubes, batter and fry. . . a cold beer and you are ready to settle in on the front deck!

haha really, gator tail eh =0
Perhaps we should make that a prize :-D. But if it's fish and chips like and goes with a beer sounds good. It's definitely neat seeing your part of the country in your images. Drastic contrast to southern California.

This is my participation , being a long time Minolta user, I am happy to see that now I will be able to rely on Sony for the continuation. This shot is made with my Minolta 5D and a 100 mm macro 2.8. I am close to buying the Sony 350 which I am sure will please me with the flip out LCD Live view when shooting insects in challenging 'yoga'-alike positions ;-)

Nice photo. I wish I could get an owl to pose for me. What lens did you use and how close did you have to get to your subject?
Sony A700, Sony A100, Maxxum 7xi
I was using a Quantaray 100-300 at approx. 50 feet away, I have never had an owl sit for 5 minutes while I took pictures.

the monthly theme catagory over at Better Photo and should be receiving a Tamrac (?) sling type bag...
Though I always like the bragging rights... ;)
I appreciate your (both you and Carl) efforts to make this a complete and well rounded site.

really enjoy posting here and viewing all of the other great posts. It really lets you know for the most part what your equipment is capable of. Not like viewing great images on other sites that are mostly put up with the "other 2"...
One thing that really made me smile, the image that won at BP, was taken with the original Alpha - the A100...now appearing at your local Best Buy as a kit for less than $300.
Here is the image by the way... The contest theme was "Diversity"
Thanks again - Hapster

This is certainly not my best work. However, it is spring in MN and we are short on good weather and wildlife! This is my retired greyhound and this is what he does best. A100 with 90mm lens.

Hello All - Her is my contribution, som Cormorant birds, from last weekend. Weather was overcast and a little dark.
Done with the A700 (jpg x-fine), handheld with the Sony 75-300 and the Olympus T-con 17 in front to get enough zoom.
There is a little PF etc. Image is ajusted in ACDsee Pro 2.
If you rule in the circumstances i think it came out OK.
A larger number of Cormorant birds, are recently staying at the inner inlet close to the city of Nakskov.
If you like to se more, use the link below, the first 2 img are taken with the Sony 16-105mm

With all the talent displayed here, I'm dreaming, but I was very lucky with this shot a couple of weeks ago when he landed right in front of me. Someone wanted entries for a "Red, Blue & Green" contest, but I'd have had to host the next contest (ugh), so I declined.

Great shot. It inspires me to put the my "beer can" lens on my A100 and go birding. Thanks for sharing.

Very cool shot Jesper. There is a Double-Crested Cormorant that spends some time on a pond near my home in Virginia. He is always very careful to stay far away from me. I can't even get a decent shot with my Sigma 50-500mm.
