New photo's from recent photo trip - North AZ
Just got back(actually over a week ago) from 7 day photo trip to North Rim, Grand Canyon, Romana Mesa - Lake Powell and Sunset Crater area of Flagstaff. I shot my large format, medium format and of course digital. I started out shooting with my 24-70 lens and ended up going to my 16-80 lens because the 24 just wasn't wide enough. I have always had a problem with crooked horizons and it's only gotten worse with digital, so I really hope that Sony comes out with the horizon level tool on the A900, just like the Nikon D700. I still have a lot of photos to post to my Flickr site, but this is some of the first batch. I hope you enjoy them.

You continue to impress with your hard work. I really appreciate you sharing these with us. Hard for me off hand to pick a favorite, but 2 and 4 stand out for me a bit more than the others. Great tones and range there, seems to bring out the essence of the landmark a bit more.
I think I will need to visit the rim for certain when I go up to Powell. I have wanted to go back to Powell for so long now.
If I may offer some advice on horizons?
I like to use the 16:9 indicators to help keep the horizon straight when using the A700/200. They are subtle but they do aid.
I, like you, want Sony to implement an in camera level tool like Ricoh does on the GX200, and now Nikon with the D700. To me, this is a REAL feature (as opposed to gimmicky-ish video) that still photographers will use much more often.
Trust me, I have suggested it to them. In the meantime, the 16:9 indicators work for me.
Cheers on another set. Looks like you had a blast, a bit jealous here!

That's some beautiful scenery and you did a great job of capturing it. Are any of these from the 24-70? Did you use any lens filters?
Sony A700, Sony A100(sold), Maxxum 7xi, and Maxxum 700si.
Thanks Carl for the nice comments. I will definitely try the 16:9 indicators to see if that helps me and my horizon problems and in the meantime I will keep hoping that Sony will incorporate a horizon tool in the new A900.
Ovlov - I don't believe any of the images posted were shot with the 24-70, but a lot of the images in my Romana Mesa folder set on www.flickr.com/photos/gpnaz were shot with the 24-70. I was generally using a polarizer on a lot of these images and some of the Canyon shots I used a 3 stop split grad filter.
