Hubert, this is stunning. Such lovely colours. I really like your choice of presentation too, it really suits the image.

is a stunning image. I really am impressed with the golden warmth that you can almost feel just looking at it....
If I can find one that I took last year I will post it. I really don't have a lot of landscape / sunset experience yet...
Thanks for sharing this image. I have a feeling that this will turn into a pretty nice looking thread...

Outstanding work!
I know all about dead money trees... ;) I just decided to keep mine vs what I could have gotten for it. Also, still loving it, I am not afraid to have it as a back up should anything bad happen to my A700...
Keep posting your quality images...

Great capture. Love the golden tone of the sunset. Well done Hubert.

You were at the right spot at the right time. It's always about the lighting .

I don't exactly what your aspirations are for photography, but shots like this I think are great general statements. I find that photographs that have a simple story and a simple layout with a clearly defined story/point always sell well.
In my opinion:
1. It tells a story (and leaves room for interpretation... one could say he's going "from the light into to the dark" etc.)
2. A great silhouette shot that doesn't have too much going on in it, yet includes just enough to support #1.
3. Exposure and mood are key to this shot. The warmth and and calm of the scene really make me feel great.
4. The metallic water compares nicely to the soft warm clouds/sky
5. I think the sun peeking through the clouds would have ruined this shot, and competed for dominance of a main subject.
6. My eye does a nice 360degree wander which to me is evidence of a good photograph.
One thing I might try is a little color balance check, there is a red dominance cast to the image that might be a bit too much (maybe). But I'm viewing on my laptop so ill reserve judgement there.
Hard to critique the shot with anything wrong.

Thank you Dan......You're telling me. I just happened to be there and took a number of shots. Of course, I was planning on getting a sunset. I just didn't know how well it would turn out. So many of these kind of shots are simply based on luck.
