Ullswater black and white.
Hi all,
Finally getting round to editing and then sharing some more of my photos from my trip to the Lake District in late September. This was taken on a rainy and dull day and we were sheltering from the rain a lot! I wanted to make something of the sky which seemed rather dark and menacing.
The image was processed in both Aperture and Photoshop elements where a DxO film pack was applied (Ilford Pan F). The image was also dodged and burned to bring out the contrast.
Thanks for looking.

Woody,
Very interesting; the sky looks great, nice and dramatic. I also like the clouded effect on the water...
How did the one boat end up so much more blurred than the other?
Thanks for sharing this dynamic image,

I too am curious about the boat! Aka blur
Pan F is pretty contrasty..so this looks similar to it..that film pack is not bad so they say.
Hi guys thanks for the comments.
There is a simple explanation about the boat being more blurred than the other boat. The blurred boat was only secured to the pier with one line and was moving around fairly freely. The second boat was tied down with 2 lines and was also much closer to the shore. Over the course of the exposure (several seconds) one moved and the other didn't.
Barry yes Pan F is pretty contrasty, although I did help it a bit with some dodging and burning. DxO film pack is indeed very good and when I reviewed it a while ago I gave it a high score.
Thanks again for looking.
