A900 and new Hassleblad pricing
A quote from a recent Hasselblad press release:
"Poulsen says, “Over the past four years we have optimized both our production and purchasing processes, which has resulted in increased purchasing power and lower production costs. We are happy to announce that these cost reductions have allowed us to offer the popular Hasselblad H3DII-31 at a new lower price point. We now offer the H3DII-31 kit, featuring the HC80mm lens, at the new price of $17,995. "
The low low price of 18K before tax! :)
Makes me feel great about getting 24mp at FF with ISO up to ... (ooops, almost said something!) for so much less than that, with a more versatile kit lens. A900 price shouldn't be that bad afterall.
I need to see some real dazzling images to justify the cost of that Hassy system. The way I figure it, I can now offer 30x40 prints to my clients with Sony's new sensor. That sounds droolingly enticing (not that I'd sell many that large, nor does any art photographer).

of having the potential to crop within that 24mp frame if need be! Talk about artistic license....Art
Carl as you and I both know what is coming in the 35mm format, Sony will do for digital cameras what it has done in the video world. This is simply an attempt for Hasselblad to justify its ridiculous margins on high-end processors. It is more than obvious (and I say more than obvious), where Sony is going with digital since its making Hasselblad nervous and you did not hear it from me! HaHaHa.
Hey this looks dangerous……..You go first!
