New Poster - First Image for Critique (Ricoh)
I have posted one or two here, before, but never brave enough for critique.
Consider me a blank canvas when it comes to instructions, advice and opinions. I want to make the shots I take better.
Here is my first with a new camera, that I still will need to learn:
Taken Sunday morning on an auto setting. So, now what.
How do I make it better, how do I start learning? What questions are best to ask?

Your exposure and color here is very good, and your subject matter (repetition/texture piece) is also very pleasing. It is a catching image.
I would crop out the left side where the blurred bamboo seems to distract, otherwise your composition is simple and straightforward/pleasing.
I think it has a community feel to it as well, mirroring a portrait of a crowd of people in a way. At least how I see it.
Thanks for posting this, looking forward to more.
