50mm 1.7
So I just got done reading Gary Friedman's book on the A350 and everything works fine with my 18-200 but then I put my 50mm 1.7 on there and set it to A and try to go anything bigger then F4 it comes out extremely overexposed even with compensations set to -2 anything more then 1.3" is just pure white.... do I have a dud since from 1.7-3.5 it's fine

Check for a sticky aperture. Some old lenses can get oil leaking onto the aperture blades, but you can kind of see it and test the lever. There should be a lot of messages about this...
there is a switch on the back side of the lens mount, you can carefully push it to one side closing the aperture, then let it snap back into position. If it hesitates at all or goes slowly, or doesn't completely close, you have a dud.
