I shoot in the Raw. I do get chilled at times. My sharpness was -1. I put it up to +2 and I will test it tomorrow.
BTW I got my 70-300G today . I got PO when I could not get a sharp pic with it.
Thanks Carl
Dan
Look forward to your shots :)

this evening. It was so soft I had to sharpen the hell out of it.

to me at least.
Have you tried anything like same shot with same lens, same apt, different cameras? And see if it really is any sharper on the other camera.
You could compare a jpeg vs a raw shot, or using a different raw converter, or different converter settings... If you do the jpeg comparison make sure it's on updated firmware though of course.

Hi Dan,
Nice shot by the way. Seems odd that you're struggling to get a sharp image from the A700- especially with that lens. I know that Sony took a more cautious approach to sharpening the images on the A700 onwards, but a) that shouldn't affect RAW and b) you should be able to sharpen them after with relative ease.
Hope it's not a faulty camera!
Cheers
Andrew
