Been Shopping
At long last I have joined the ranks of DSLR users having used a Minolta 700si and slide film for the last 10 years. Just got back after purchasing a Sony a300 kit, Vertical Grip and an F42AM Flash, now just waiting for the batteries to charge. Could any one tell me if my remote for the 700si will work with the a300? Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help and will try my best to be an asset to the Forum

The Minolta wired remote will work.
Maxxum 9; 70-210 f4; 5400HS , Maxxum 7D+VC7D; Sigma 24-70 f2.8; HVLF42AM, Alpha 700+VG-C70AM; Tamron 70-200 f2.8; HVLF56AM, Canon 20D+BGE2; 70-300 f3.5-f5.6; Speedlite 580 EX II, Nikon D80+MBD80; 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR....make an excellent photo with a beer can, a pinhole, a slice of film and some patience.

The Minolta RC-1000 wired remote works with all the Alpha cameras.
Sony A700, Sony A100(sold), Maxxum 7xi, and Maxxum 700si.
Welcome aboard. And a good choice in a cam there, should be really happy with it, mainly the versatility and image quality.

Yes it will work as has been said already. it's one of the really nice things about the Minolta SLRs and now the Alpha DSLRs the fact that the same remote works for all. Who'd have thought a cable that would work on the old 7000i etc would still work today. It's these thoughtful details that make all the difference...
