Have any of you used the A300/350 for street shooting or the equivalent?
And with what results?
Recommendations for settings, cautions, etc.?
I'm used to using a small camera or a Pentax K10D with a 21mm pancake lens.
But I'd like to take advantage of the live view LCD for waist level shooting.
Thanks.
Mark

I like ISO 400 (great all around IQ and excellent high shutter speeds). Good results of course, made pretty easy.
Generally like to ask permission, but when doing "walking" street scenes etc... no real need unless a portrait.
People have no clue you are taking shots of them, it works great. :)

I have been using Live view with a Fuji S9600 and Olympus E-330 and now Sony A350 for the last couple of years. The angle screen as a waist level finder or over the heads viewer is great.
The older I get the better I used to be.
If you're using the A300 for street shooting or the equivalent I'd love to know what settings you're using.
The 400ISO Carl recommended sounds right but if you have any other suggestions please let me know.
I'll be doing my own experimenting of course but always welcome some guidance.

ISO 100 or 200. Aperture priority. WB Auto. RAW. 400 ISO should be fine but I don't go out in the rain very much so the light is OK. If I want to photograph a street musician I usually give a donation. I have found most people don't mind being photographed. If I want a pose I will ask.
