Sony 55-200 or 18-250?!
I read the review of the lens on this site & am very tempted to get one, especially for the price (£169). I already have a 16-80 Zeiss & a Sigma 70-300, but need something more of a walkabout telephoto lens. The only other review I've read is on Dyxum, where the reviewer is less enthusiatistic. Beginning to wonder whether I should opt for the 18-250 instead, although that means doubling up on part of the 16-80's range. Any thoughts anyone?

Hey Bluebear, do you have any favorite subjects you suspect you might tend to be photographing with it?
Off hand I'd say get the 18-250 it's quite nice and if you like the 16-80 I think you will like the 18-250. It depends too on what you might be leaning towards photographing when you walk around.

Well, I got the lens! Tried it out yesterday and am quite pleased with the results. AF can be a little slow compared to the 16-80, but for the price I can't complain!
Like the sharpness of the feathers behind the head - bearing in mind this is not at full 12mp resolution!
Impressive bokeh
What do you think?
18-250 for 169? Where?!
I wish the 18-250 could be found for £169! No, I am referring to Sony's recently available 55-200 lens.
Nice shots bluebear, congats on the lens. I especially like the top and last shots. Looks like you made the right choice :)
