And the winners are...
Let us start off by saying thank you to all of you who entered our first monthly contest! There were quite a few entries and some really nice photographs submitted. The winners were difficult to pick so we had to include some honorable mentions as well to show more of our favorites. First and second place shots were picked on the basis of good exposure, degree of difficulty, composition, and an overall pleasing quality of the shot.
First Place- Goes to Brian Murphy (ovlov) for this very difficult shot of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird captured with the A100. Congratulations Brian, you won a brand new Tokina 19-35mm f3.5 -4.5 lens!
Second Place- Goes to Jesper for this wonderful shot of a group of Cormorants. A wonderfully exposed shot with lots of texture and it even has all the birds facing the same direction! Congratulations Jesper, you won a brand new Sony neoprene elbow strap (one of the most comfortable around, and yes, it does fit around your neck ).

Thanks everyone. I'm very honored that my photo was picked from so many excellent photographs. I imagine it was a very tough choice for Carl and Eric. I think that this forum is quite lucky to have accumulated so many talented and friendly photographers. I look forward to seeing what gets entered in the next photo contest.
