AlphaMountWorld.com Photo Contest #3 Winners

First of all, thank you all so much for entering our third Monthly Photo Contest "Post your best Black and White shot". Now that we have all grown grey hair, we have finally come up with the winners and our honorable mentions.

This contest was very successful. So many good entries it almost caused a judging nightmare! However, we persevered and have come up with our favorites, all things considered. Thank you all for being so patient, and I believe our next contest should yield faster judging results as we learned quite a bit from this contest.

A panel of three judges decided on our first, second, and third place winners, but we could not leave it there. We all decided that we should have three honorable mentions as well, simply because there were too many great shots here. Winners will be notified by email and prizes arranged accordingly, so we hope you have been paying attention! If a winner does not respond to our email for the prize in three days time, we will award the the next in line of judging and move the next winner up.

So without further ado, let's announce the winning contestants!

Our First place honor goes too Nikola Konsulov, with "Reflection of the Eye 2", congratulations Nikola!

Excellent work on this image, compelling and powerful!

First place - Nikola Konsulov

Our Second place honor goes too Patrick L., for his shot taken at the Waddeneiland Schiermonnikoog.

Be safe and happy shooting,

AlphaMountWorld Team

Congrats to all of the winners, and an "atta boy" to the judges

There was no easy choice for the 3 judges in this one. Everyone responded with some outstanding B&W images. I don't envy the job the judges had in deciding this one...

In the end; I think the winning images all deserve to be there. More important to me; there is something to be learned in observing each closely and then trying to apply it to get to the next level.

On to the next contest; l have no doubt that it will keep the high standards that have become the norm for contests at Alpha Mount World. The contests are a testament to the level of quality photographers that have joined this site; and the spirit of sharing knowledge & techniques that make this site so appealing.

The contests illustrate so well all the positives of AMW...

I can't belive that my photo "Reflection of the Eye (2)" placed in another contest barely one month after Alpha Mount World's Contest #3 "Post your best Black and White shot". I am in awe. Here's the link: http://www.steves-digicams.com/dpotd_aug2008_winners.html
